Industrial landscape at the Yangtze River. Ink and colors on paper, unmounted. Lower richt titled: "At the Yangts River", signed: "Painted by Song Wenzhi in June 1973 at the Nanjing Petrochemical Industies". Three artist's seals: "Loujiang Song Hao", "Wenzhi huayin", "Song Shi Yan".
Formerly from a German private collection, acquired before 2007 - Unmounted, very few short tears at the edges
Song Wenzhi, art name Song Hao, was born in Taicang, Jiangsu Province. In his early years he studied landscape painting with Zhang Shiyuan and later with Lu Yanshao and Wu Hufan. In 1951 he entered the Jiangsu Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting and devoted himself to the innovation of landscape painting under the influence of Fu Baoshi. He was a pinter known for his depictions of both pastoral and industrialized landscapes
